40 INSPIRING Days in Psalms & Proverbs
Day 27 | WALKING WITH THE LORD
WALKING WITH THE LORD

Psalm 15
“Lord, who may reside in Your tent? Who may settle on Your holy hill? One who walks with integrity, practices righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, nor do evil to his neighbor, nor bring shame on his friend; A despicable person is despised in his eyes, but he honors those who fear the Lord; He takes an oath to his own detriment, and does not change; He does not lend his money at interest (to other Israelites), nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. One who does these things will never be shaken.”

King David lived under what we call the “old covenant,” which is living under the law of Moses. Today, Believers in Christ live under the New Covenant and are under grace.

Nonetheless, lifestyle choices should be familiar to ALL who worship the Lord God. Here, David spells out several, which could make multiple devotionals!

Verses 2-3 mention multiple KEY points in living well as a Christ-follower: integrity, righteousness, truth, and control of one’s tongue.   Consider if EVERYONE on the planet (or how about just your town) were to do JUST those three things. Live with integrity, righteousness (according to GOD), and take control of what we say. Just those things would turn our towns upside down – much BETTER.

This brings me to a more significant point: this is ONE reason, among many, why attending your church regularly is such a good idea. The world does NOT teach what we find here in Psalm 15… and we all live “in the world.”  I don’t know about you, but I need a shower at the end of each day. I have to wash off the dust, dirt, and stuff I’ve collected all day. Going to church each week is one way we wash off the “stuff” we’ve collected throughout the week – wrong thinking, doubts, anger, and so on.

Do yourself a favor; don’t miss your church service.

Prayer: LORD, help me to practice living this amazing, yet short, Psalm. Amen.
