Day 14 | OUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS BEST
40 Days of NEW with GOD
Day 14 | OUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS BEST
OUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS BEST
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Have you ever been traveling down a particular road only to be stopped by a blockade or a “closed road” sign?
We had such a road not too far from our home… a perfectly good 2-lane road which ran by a golf course. People took that road regularly until a few years ago when we had a huge rainstorm which washed so much shrubbery and mud into the road that – apparently after years of cleaning it after such an event – the county road services said “enough” and let it sit, impassable by anything other than a high 4x4. I remember several years later, GPS still showed it as a viable road, but, alas, it was not.
Have YOU ever traveled down a life road of some sort and – following the best advice from others – came to a road that could not be used?
Sometimes that happens. We can’t always SEE what’s around that next corner, and our guessing is also imperfect.
BUT Almighty God KNOWS what is around that next corner for you, and as one of His children, He is willing to help and guide you. His destination may NOT be the same as you were expecting, but if you will follow Him (and there’s a way to do that), you’ll find – as this verse attests, HE, Almighty God, SHALL direct your steps.
One of the results of such leading is often a NEW PATH that God has for you. A new relationship that can lead to a new friend, a new job, a new perspective, a new insight… you get the idea. As I look back in the “rear view mirror of my life” (aka memories), I can see how the LORD directed and guided me, and each time, it was for my eventual good. And why? Because I’m one of His children – and in Christ – so are you!
Prayer: LORD, thank YOU for your direction. Always out of love and because I am one of Yours. Amen.
