Day 39 | BENEFITS OF THE NEW COVENANT
BENEFITS OF THE NEW COVENANT

Hebrews 10:19-25
“Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

Under the NEW covenant, because of the blood of Jesus, we have a Great Priest – Jesus Himself – who allows us to enter the “holy place” with confidence. In contrast, even the High Priest in the Old Testament must have been PERFECTLY clean before entering, or ZAP they would die. But when we draw near, our hearts should be sincere and not be trite about talking with the LORD God of the Universe.

No, this doesn’t mean we can’t speak to the Lord casually throughout our day and week. Still, I suggest that everyone find time to pause, shut off everything else, and imagine entering the Holy Place, where it’s just YOU and the God of the universe. He’s giving His full attention to YOU; we should find the time to do the same in His presence.

Consider these song lyrics:
In the presence of Jehovah
God Almighty, Prince of Peace
Troubles vanish, hearts are mended
In the presence of the King

Make time to not rush your time with Him—a benefit of the New Covenant.

Prayer: LORD God, thank You for my Great High Priest, Jesus. Amen.
