40 Days of NEW with GOD
Day 15 | HE WILL DO SOMETHING NEW!
SOMETHING NEW!

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”

Have you ever been focused on and “stuck” in the past? Maybe something terrible happened, and you can’t get over it?

Such was the situation with the children of Israel, who were told to LOOK for the LORD to do something NEW (and good) for them. Interestingly, just before these verses, God was telling them (through Isaiah the prophet) to remember the Red Sea and God’s miraculous provision. Still, there is a sense that they need to forget the past, with its hardship and discouragement, and look forward to God doing something good for them now, too.

“Behold, I will do a new thing.”  Staying STUCK in the past can keep us from recognizing and enjoying the “new thing” God wants to do.

So, where are you at in your walk with the LORD? It’s GOOD to praise God for the blessings He has provided in the past… and frankly, that is where too many Believers fail… a lack of gratitude.

But our LORD is alive in the NOW, too, and wants to make a “roadway in the wilderness” for you. A “river in the desert.”

Are you there? In the wilderness? In a sort of desert? Wondering IF and WHEN the LORD will impact your situation?

Since this describes how MANY Believers are at any time, let me ask: HOW are you praying (talking) to the LORD about your situation?

I suggest you consider the following:  (1) Praise Him! (2) Thank Him for what he’s done in the past for you (answered prayer, general blessings, salvation, and so on). (3) Make your request to Him about your current situation.

Look for something NEW to happen!

Prayer: LORD God, thank YOU for all you’ve done for me, all because You love me. I’ll watch for the NEW THINGS You desire to do in my life. Amen.
