Day 33 | THE HEAVENS AND THE WORD SHOW GOD’S GLORY
THE HEAVENS AND THE WORD SHOW GOD’S GLORY

Psalm 19
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”

Have you ever met a famous person? Usually, these folks are known for something they did, perhaps only once. Neil Armstrong comes to mind: “One small step for man…”

Our Almighty Creator God has done “something” too (a BIG something) – like “In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

So, every night we look UP into the night sky and see all the stars and planets up there, we are looking at God’s handiwork. They are “SPEAKING” to us about God’s power, majesty, and design ability. The night skies are revealing knowledge about the Creator.

Furthermore, the WORD of God and its statements are pure, helpful, powerful, enlightening, righteous, desirable, sweet, and of great reward.

Thus, David ends this psalm with a prayer that his words and thoughts would be acceptable to the LORD God, His rock and redeemer.

Prayer: LORD, help me every time I look at the night sky to be lifted up, inspired, and pointed towards YOU, the One who created our earth and ALL the heavens above. Amen.
