Day 30 | WHAT A WISE PERSON LOOKS LIKE
WHAT A WISE PERSON LOOKS LIKE
Proverbs 15
Do you consider yourself to be a WISE person? Why do you think so? What would acquaintances say? What would your friends say? What would your pastor say? What would God say? Well, here in this Proverb is what God has to say; it’s a sort of test for us all. As you read the following verses, ponder for a moment and ask yourself honestly if that sounds like you.
1-2: “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.”
4: “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.”
5: “A fool despises his father’s instruction, but he who receives correction is prudent.”
7: “The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the fool does not do so.”
8: “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.”
13: “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”
14: “The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.”
15: “But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.”
17: “Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fatted calf with hatred.”
20: “A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man brings disgrace to his parents.”
22: “There is wisdom in a multitude of counselors.”
33: “The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility.”
Prayer: LORD, I do desire to live, speak and think in a way pleasing to YOU. Help me to control my thoughts and my words and to enjoy living and walking with you in the JOY of the Lord. Amen
