Day 21 | DAVID CONFIRMS HIS TRUST IN THE LORD
DAVID CONFIRMS HIS TRUST IN THE LORD

Psalm 11
“I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, ‘Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?’
"But the Lord is in his holy Temple; the Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds. For the righteous Lord loves justice. The virtuous will see his face.”

David had a challenging life, including years of hiding from King Saul, who was out to kill him. (And you thought being a King was easy! Ha!)

But when the going got tough, David reminded himself that the LORD – Yahweh – was in His holy temple, ruling from heaven. (verse 4)

That remembrance helped strengthen David by giving him confidence and a sense of peace that God was in control. He admitted in this psalm that the LORD examines both the righteous and the wicked, and He (the LORD) hates those who love violence.

David confirmed, too, that the righteous LORD loves justice and that the virtuous, those who follow His ways, will see his face (reminding me of when Moses wanted to see God’s face.)

So, what’s going on in your life that could benefit you by remembering that Your LORD God is in his holy Temple and still rules from heaven, closely watching  everyone, everywhere?

Prayer: LORD, thank You for seeing everything and controlling everything. Thank You for allowing me to be one of your children, I am so blessed by You.  Amen.
