Day 15 | CONFIDENCE IN GOD THE DELIVERER
CONFIDENCE IN GOD THE DELIVERER
Psalm 7:1-2
“I come to you for protection, O Lord my God. Save me from my persecutors—rescue me! If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion, tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.”
Sometimes, some people just won’t like you or me. And it may not be because of anything we have done. It may just be because they are deluded, deranged, or demented.
Here, David was facing persecutors and needed rescuing from Almighty God. We’re not told all that was going on or why he was facing these problems, but David turned to Almighty God again for help and rescuing.
That in itself is a vital lesson for life. We, Followers of Christ, must learn to turn to our LORD first for guidance, direction, and help. We must never forget to pray, especially when facing decisions and challenges.
Finally, David concludes in verses 10 through 17: “God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right. God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day. wicked conceive evil; they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies. They dig a deep pit to trap others, then fall into it themselves. The trouble they make for others backfires on them. The violence they plan falls on their own heads. I will thank the Lord because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.”
It’s worth noting – again – that David concludes this psalm with thanks and praise to the LORD most High.
We, too, need to remember to do that EVERY day.
Prayer: LORD, thank You for all you do for me. I’m sorry I have too often forgotten to praise You after I’ve prayed and cast my care upon You. Amen.
