40 Days of GRACE
Day 40 | GRACE FOUND: THE LAST VERSE IN THE BIBLE
GRACE FOUND: THE LAST VERSE IN THE BIBLE

Revelation 22:20-21
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”

The Word grace appears over 170 times in the Bible and can be found in both the Old and New Testaments. It is obviously a recurring topic that our Heavenly Father wants us to understand and from which we can receive comfort.

In these closing verses of the Scripture, John the Apostle (the human writer) relayed what he saw and heard on his mysterious trip to heaven.

The Old Testament – aka the Old Covenant – ends with Malachi 4:6, which says: “Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

The New Testament – aka the New Covenant – ends with “the GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ, being declared upon us all." (Do you see just the slightest difference between those two testament ending verses?)

So, what is our takeaway from these 40 days of GRACE? Our Heavenly Father wants us to receive his LOVE, CARE, PEACE, GRACE, and more.

Again, grace is God giving us something we do NOT deserve.

Neither of us – you, dear listener, or myself – deserve the GRACE of God. And yet, without it, we could NOT come to the Lord, accept Jesus as our Savior, have our sins forgiven, and have new life and heaven assured.

As I shared in a previous devotional, GRACE is a unique and KEY element in our faith. CS Lewis – the excellent deep-thinking Christian from the last century –said that the most UNIQUE about Christianity is GRACE.

Prayer: LORD God, thank You again for the GRACE You pour out on your children. I am proud, humbled, and blessed to be counted among that group. Amen.
