The POWER of 10
Day 40 | THE LAST VERSE IN THE BIBLE
THE LAST VERSE IN THE BIBLE
Revelation 22:21
“The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.”
The Holy Bible is a divine book, written over 1500 years by some 40 authors, most of whom did not know each other. And yet – led by the Holy Spirit – God’s truth has been communicated to us through those writings.
From Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning,” the Bible takes us on a journey of the story of the Love of God, the people of God, and God’s plan for humanity. A few of the people in His story include Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Noah and his ark, Abraham and Sarah, Moses and the Children of Israel, David, and Goliath and all the prophets. This all leads up to Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection, the start of the church age and finally concludes in the final book of the Bible – the book of Revelation – and our discovering how this whole story is going to end and wrap up.
The Bible gives us the complete history of planet Earth… from beginning to the end, including the New Heaven and New Earth that is coming for all of us who have received Jesus as Lord and Savior, who will live together forever!
Throughout this Power of Ten series, I’ve tried to unpack various 10-word Scriptures to help you see the depth of meaning and the benefit each can provide to you, your life, and your walk in this world.
I sincerely believe that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
And so, we come to the last verse of the Bible. The Apostle John is writing and giving the readers – you and me – a blessing, a benediction. “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.”
What a fitting way to end the New Testament… and the entire Bible.
Ephesians 2:8 tells us: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”
God’s grace is essential to have a permanent relationship with Him and to live well every day.
Prayer: LORD, thank You for ALL you have done for me, and I know that it’s by your grace that I was saved and became one of your children forever. And thank you Lord, for the Word of God which is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Amen.
