The POWER of 10
Day 39 | WHOSOEVER BELIEVES
WHOSOEVER BELIEVES
Acts 16:31
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
If you attend a Bible-believing church, you will have heard this verse before. It tells what a person needs to do to become “saved,” “born-again,” or to “become a Christian.” (We use those phrases interchangeably). But we need to do MORE than just believe there was a man some 2000 years ago whose name was Jesus.
Romans 10:9 says this: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
John said it this way in the famous passage John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Note the “everlasting life” part!
In the expanded “Amplified Bible,” John 3:16 reads like this: “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
The reality is that THIS is the reason why Jesus Christ was born on earth as an infant, lived a faultless life, was falsely accused, convicted, and crucified on the cross. Then three days later He rose from the grave … SO THAT … you and I could be born-again, have our mistakes (our sins) forgiven, and be able to look forward to heaven! You see, God doesn’t want ANY of His creation to be lost.
John 3:17 – "For God didn’t send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
If you haven’t done that before, let me invite you to pray right now to receive Christ.
A suggested prayer for salvation: Dear Lord Jesus, I invite You to come into my life. I believe you died on the cross for my sin and rose again 3 days later. I am trusting in You. Please forgive my sin, be my Lord and start getting me ready for heaven. Amen.
(PS: if you prayed that prayer, let me know so I can rejoice and pray for you.)
