The POWER of 10
Day 37 | HIS MIGHTY POWER
HIS MIGHTY POWER
Ephesians 6:10
“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”
In the military, before soldiers are given guns or taught how to fire rockets or missiles, they go through basic training. That training aims to get their bodies as physically fit as possible to have reserve strength when needed. It would be nonsensical to send a recruit out into the field to fight if he was not prepared or strong enough.
In Ephesians 6, Paul tells the church we are in a battle. It may not be a physical war like countries go to occasionally, but it is a spiritual war and we need armor, weapons, and a hefty reliance on our Lord's mighty power.
In 1 Samuel 30:6, we read that David "strengthened himself in the LORD his God."
"And in His mighty power" shows us how to get the strength we need. It's not a magic phrase we say all day, but it happens as we realize WHO we serve.
"Mighty power" indicates a force or power in action, something we are to use.
Often, Christians wait for God to do something, fix something, or motivate someone to come to church or do the right thing. But sometimes, those are things the Believers should, and can, do.
As Believers, we have the power of the Holy Spirit within us. We can talk, go, encourage, lift up, challenge, invite, pray for, and more… in HIS mighty power. There is no need to feel weak and unable to do what the LORD has put before us.
For example, I preach nearly every week. I don't wait for my wife or someone else to develop my messages; I have that privilege and have been equipped to do everything HE wants me to do. The same is true with writing these devotionals. I'm strong enough! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
So, ask the LORD what He wants YOU to do daily, and believe He has equipped you with all that you need… “His mighty power.” Be strong!
Prayer: LORD, I want to serve you every day. Guide and lead me and help me to be strong. Amen.
