CONNECTING with GOD
Day 13 | RECEIVING GOD’S UNLIMITED RICHES
RECEIVING GOD’S UNLIMITED RICHES
Ephesians 3:16
“And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.” (TPT)
We Christians don’t usually think about ALL that happens in the process of being “born again.” We usually pray a prayer in which we acknowledge our desire to be cleansed, our belief that God raised Jesus from the grave, and our desire to be made new and become a Child of God. I sometimes further explain this with the analogy of “turning the steering wheel of our lives over to the Lord God.”
But one BIG thing that happens in this process is that the Holy Spirit comes into our lives and starts to change us from the inside out.
In this part of his letter to the church at Ephesus, Paul – who himself had experienced a radical life change when he acknowledged Jesus as his Lord and Savior – is praying for and teaching that church about ALL that that experience can be.
“… that HE would reveal (unveil) within you, the UNLMITED RICHES of His glory and favor …”
I think most underestimate ALL that the Spirit brings with Him when He starts to live within, cleanses us and makes us one of God’s children. I mean, we like the idea that we’re “saved” and “going to heaven” when we die, but really – if you think about it – our “eternal life” starts the day we give our lives to the Lord and become one of His children. Even upon death, we are “absent from the body, present with the Lord.” So, eternal life – for the follower of Jesus – has already begun!
The verse continues: “…until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.”
We often quote the verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13 – which is absolutely true. But, how does that happen?
It happens because – as Paul teaches here – the Holy Spirit brings with Him “supernatural strength” which Paul is praying will “FLOOD” (those Ephesian Christians AND us today) “with his divine might and explosive power”
So, His might, His explosive power, His supernatural strength, His unlimited riches and His FAVOR, are all promised to those of us who are CONNECTED to Almighty God through Jesus Christ, His Son.
Prayer: Father, I want to THANK YOU for all that you’ve done for me through the new birth in Christ. I guess I did not realize nor fully understand, ALL that you did in making me one of your children, but I want to praise you and thank you that I am one of yours. Amen.
