Day 11 | OUR PERMANENT CONNECTION
CONNECTING with GOD
Day 11 | OUR PERMANENT CONNECTION
OUR PERMANENT CONNECTION
Hebrews 13:5
“I WILL NEVER [under any circumstances] DESERT YOU [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], NOR WILL I FORSAKE or LET YOU DOWN or RELAX MY HOLD ON YOU [assuredly not]!” (AMP)
This verse should give you a BIG dose of confidence and assurance about our Connection!
The author of Hebrews is quoting here from Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Have you ever felt afraid that maybe God had given up on you?
The Lord said to His people, and says to His people today, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…”
The Amplified Bible breaks those Greek and Hebrew words down further by telling us that the Lord (Yahweh in Deuteronomy 31) “…will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you!"
If we’re honest, there have been times – in every Christian’s life – when he/she didn’t live right before God and the words, the actions, the attitudes were all out of line with God’s will for His children.
Nonetheless, God promises to NOT give up on us or forsake us or relax His hold on us! (Whew!)
Do you have a prodigal son or daughter or grand who is breaking your heart and thus – you know – breaking the Father’s?
Then imitate your Heavenly Father. You don’t have to condone, but don’t give up either. Continue to pray. Continue to be a lifeline. Continue to “be there” for the time – which you need to continue to believe will come – when they return like that prodigal of old about which Jesus gave us the parable.
You see, we humans don’t usually have the patience or determination to “hold on” like God does. It’s hard. It’s painful. It’s too long a wait.
Yet, God’s connection to us – through His Son Jesus – is more powerful and sure than anything we see here on earth.
And we can all be thankful that it is!
Prayer: Lord, once again, THANK YOU for the permanent connection you have with me through my acceptance of your Son Jesus the Christ, my Lord and Savior. Help me to walk worthy of that connection. I know that doing so will be for Your glory but also, my benefit. Amen.
