40 Days of WISDOM
Day 36 | THE WAY OF THE FOOL
THE WAY OF THE FOOL
Proverbs 12:15
“The way of the arrogant fool, who rejects God’s wisdom, is right in his own eyes, but a wise and prudent man is he who listens to counsel.” (AMP)
Is it just me, or does it seem our country is filled with more foolish, stupid, and ungodly people than ever before? And, of course, what sticks out is how many of our leaders today reject God’s wisdom and God’s Word. They either don’t know God’s Word, disagree with it, or just don’t care. Now, that is the way of the FOOL. (And many of these foolish people are in places of power and control?)
It’s difficult to imagine people wholesale disagreeing with GOD, but that’s what we have today among many – though thankfully not all – of our political leaders, educational leadership, and the heads of many businesses, technologies, and healthcare.
So, what’s a Follower of Jesus to do?
From our verse today: “… but a wise and prudent man is he who listens to counsel.” From whom? From God’s Word, God’s Holy Spirit, and God’s people.
The wise Christian can have Godly wisdom and understanding because: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding.” (Psalm 111:10)
We live in a critical time in history, or should I say ANOTHER critical time. These times have been before, as Solomon tells us: “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9, ESV)
Therefore, since the human race has “been there - done that” … have you considered searching God’s Word for how we should live in times like these and places like this?
Foolish people have always been and, except for heaven, will always be. The key for us is to NOT be unwise but wise.
Prayer: LORD, Please give me discernment to see the world through Your viewpoint and to do and say the things that are WISE in your eyes. Amen.
