Day  30 | GOD'S WISDOM AT WORK
GOD'S WISDOM AT WORK

1 Corinthians 1:18-21
“The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out. It's written, ‘I'll turn conventional wisdom on its head, I'll expose so-called experts as shams.’
So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn't God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered stupid—preaching, of all things!—to bring those who trust him into the way of salvation.”
(MSG)

Since Genesis, Satan has inspired people to rebel against God by whispering things to them such as: "God can't be trusted, He doesn't care about you, He doesn't want you to have any fun," and on and on and on. Lies, all lies, but then Satan is the BEST LIAR there has ever been!

Paul writes here plainly, if not sarcastically, and compares God's wisdom with unregenerate men. And yes, God's plan of sending His Son to redeem us DOES seem absurd to those who are not born-again and believe (hope) that there is NO afterlife in which they will have to answer.

And the Chief Liar tells them they are correct, "No need to worry!"

But God has exposed all of this "conventional wisdom" as a sham.

As a pastor, I enjoyed: “Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered stupid—preaching, of all things!—to bring those who trust him into the way of salvation.”

Here's the bottom line: God's wisdom is the "real deal." Human wisdom, aka "conventional wisdom," things said to be WISE by people without Christ, is a SHAM.
God is the Source of ALL wisdom.

Prayer: LORD God, You are all-wise, all-knowing, all-powerful, and pure love. Thank you for being my Lord and my God. Amen.
