Day 36 | OUR FUTURE HOPE
OUR FUTURE HOPE
Revelation 21:1-5
“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.’ Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.’” (NKJV)
Things in this world today are far from perfect. Every day, every newscast, and everything you read – shows MORE problems and issues and pain and crying and hurt.
But here in Revelation 21, the LORD gives us, by way of the Apostle John, information about our future home that is hopeful and encouraging! The Spirit of God enabled John to SEE into heaven, and then the LORD told him to “write it down” so that we could KNOW what He saw!
In these verses, we – the church, the Believers – are called the “bride of Christ” and we will obviously be there. And God will dwell with us again, as He did with Adam and Eve before the fall.
God will “…wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” (Wow!) Then the LORD ends with, “I am making everything new.”
PRAYER: LORD, I am so looking forward to that day, when you come again and when we can finally occupy that “new heaven and new earth” that you mention here and be with YOU. Thank You for taking such good care of us, now and in the future. Amen.
