40 Days of TRUST
Day 25 | TRUST GOD TO BE YOUR ROCK
TRUST GOD TO BE YOUR ROCK
Isaiah 26:3-4
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” (AMPC)
I can remember a time when, as a child in Sunday school, I sang a song about “The wise man built his house upon a rock … and the rains came-a tumbling down.”
Then we sang, “The foolish man built his house upon the sand…”
In an earlier writing in this “40 Days of TRUST,” I wrote about Isaiah 26:3, one of my lifetime favorites. Isaiah 26:4 gives us even more REASON to trust: “Trust [confidently] in the Lord forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the Lord God, is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].” (AMP)
Isaiah tells us (via the Spirit of God) – to COMMIT to Him, LEAN on Him, HOPE CONFIDENTLY in Him – forever. And WHY? Because HE is the “everlasting Rock of Ages.” (Cue the song, sing along if you choose!)
Do you TRUST God that much? Do you TRUST Him to handle EVERYTHING that comes against you? Do you TRUST Him to guide you and be near you through whatever you’re going through?
It takes time to get there from when we first become a Followers of Jesus (aka Christians). It takes time in His Word (the Bible), time talking to Him (prayer), time being in church hearing His Word taught, time being around other Believers and just time growing to KNOW Him personally. HE wants to be YOUR everlasting ROCK if you’ll trust Him.
Prayer: LORD, I do want you to be my Rock. Help me to grow in You and to grow my Trust. I desire to deepen my relationship with You. Amen.
