Day 9 | GOD KNOWS US
GOD KNOWS US
Psalm 56:8
“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You recorded each one in your book.” (NLT)
Because God loves you, He is always glad to hear from you. You can show your trust in Him by talking to Him about how you feel and the circumstances you’re facing.
When you trust God, you go to Him and His Word when things are hard. Then, when we do what He says, we position ourselves to receive His grace, mercy, rest, and help. Don’t forget, HE wants to be YOUR main source of comfort when you are in need.
Psalm 56:8 show that God knows us so well that – as David penned during a VERY difficult and frightening time in his life – He (God) sees our tears and has recorded each one.
As parents, we’ve had times when one child or the other was hurt and needed our help. When they are little, it’s often a skinned knee that needs a bandage. But when older, the hurts can be deeper and harder to see… but a good parent knows when something is wrong.
Our Heavenly Father is better than ANY earthly parent… He knows ALL. None-the-less, He’s waiting on US to draw near to Him. Don’t forget, the LORD is way better than any earthly parent and can truly meet ALL our needs abundantly.
Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” (John 10.10)
So, I’ve often thought, “WHY doesn’t everyone turn to God immediately when there’s a problem?” My best guess is: PRIDE and DOUBT. Pride (like a two year old… “I can do it myself”) and DOUBT – thinking you don’t matter to God or perhaps He’s too busy. I simply suggest you not go there.
Prayer: Lord, help me to remember that YOU LOVE ME SO MUCH that You GAVE Your only begotten Son. Thank You for ALL You DO for me. Amen.
