Day  7 | TRUSTING BY FAITH
TRUSTING BY FAITH

Psalm 37:3
“Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on his faithfulness.”
(TPT)

People who are growing in their Christian faith want to know HOW to live... what God wants them to do, so that they might enjoy His approval, provision, and security.  Much like a little child who wants to please his/her mama or daddy, those of us who are Children of God should want to do the same, for “Our Father Who art in heaven.”

This Psalm of David’s points to a great alternative to worrying and envying: trusting God and doing what’s right in His eyes.

Today, it’s so easy to get distracted from the trusting and doing, as we can easily get our eyes on the seeming prosperity of the wicked and wonder if we’re on the right road.

Charles Spurgeon said this: “Faith cures fretting. Sight is cross-eyed, and views things only as they seem, hence her envy; faith has clearer optics to behold things as they really are, hence her peace.”

We all want dependability we can count on, such as that the sun will come up tomorrow, our roof will protect us from rain, the guy driving in the car next to us will continue to stay in his lane, and that our loved ones will be there for us.

Sometimes, we must TRUST by faith.  We may not see results immediately, but God has promised in this life that IF we fix our hearts (minds, will) on Him, we WILL be secure and feast on His faithfulness.

Prayer: Lord, I am thankful that You have given us Your Word, Your promises, Your roadmap for life. Help me daily to TRUST YOU and DO GOOD to others.  Help me to do as Jesus taught His Followers: “Love one another as I have loved you.”  (John 13:34) Amen.
