MORE ON FAITH
Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (NKJV)
We've all done it. Read a Scripture and forget it almost as fast as we read it.
Engaging with the subject of FAITH is one of those "biggies" in the Bible.
Earlier in Hebrews we read "By faith, we understand" that the worlds were formed by God's faith as He spoke His words. And by that, we learn that God is the Intelligent Designer, the "Big Banger," the uncaused First Cause which resulted in everything being created.
And since we too are made in God's image, we have the capability of exercising OUR faith as God did His. We are NOT God – of course – but as "Christians" (like Christ) – we have been given the GIFT of faith and – step by step – can learn to use that Faith in a way that pleases the Father and brings Him glory!
Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches us, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God so that no one may boast."
No other creatures on the planet were made in God's image. Thus, only people have the gift of faith. And that faith is necessary for us to come to God and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior… His reward for those who have diligently sought and accepted Him as Lord.
God has and is revealing Himself to everyone, everywhere, throughout all of history. He does that through what we call general and specific revelation. As we diligently seek Him, You, I, your neighbors, family members, and everyone on the planet will be rewarded by God with the gift of salvation and eternal life.
Keep this in mind too, we have been given the "gift" of faith, but that faith can and should GROW as we walk with the Lord.
Prayer: LORD, thank You for the gift of faith and my born-again relationship with You. Amen.
