Day 26 | IN ALL THINGS
IN ALL THINGS
Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (NKJV)
The good thing about a familiar verse of Scripture is that, like a favorite shirt, it just fits and feels good.
The problem is that we sometimes dismiss it as passé when facing a new situation. Let’s ponder this afresh today.
You know this verse does NOT say that all things are good. Indeed, a tragedy in your family (or in your health, etc.) is NOT probably something to be happy about. But this verse presupposes that YOU know that GOD is aware of your situation.
Let’s pause there. What do you believe about God? Do you believe He is all-knowing (omniscient)? (He is!) Do you believe He is everywhere present (omnipresent)? (He is!) Do you believe that God is all-powerful (omnipotent)? (He is!) Then, what does that mean in terms of the problem you are facing NOW?
The Amplified Bible puts it this way: “And we know (with great confidence) that God (who is deeply concerned about us) causes all things to work together (as a plan) for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”
Do you have “great confidence”? If not, why not? How can you build your confidence (or faith)?
Do you believe that God is genuinely and deeply concerned about YOU? Do you believe that God knows more than you do? Do you think that God can see around the bend up ahead in your life, a week from now, a year, ten years?
And are you willing to TRUST Him and His ability to help you get through this?
Life here can be challenging as this is NOT heaven. But God loves you and will guide you through.
Prayer: LORD, I trust You. Lead me, guide me, and encourage me. Thank you, Amen.
