Day 1 | SOARING ABOVE IT ALL
SOARING ABOVE IT ALL
Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (KJV)
Everyone gets tired. Some more than others, but we all get tired and need to rest.
Since God made us, He understands. He made us to need sleep every night and it’s why babies, children, and even adults sometimes need a nap! We need to rest. Getting enough rest is as essential as drinking enough water, and shorting either will eventually show in health issues and your “tent” (body) starting to fall apart.
Jesus told us, “Come unto me, and I will give you rest.”
So how do we do this verse? How do we WAIT upon the Lord? Do we sit around, twiddle our thumbs, and wait for God to do something to us?
The Amplified Bible gives us a clue, it says; “But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power." I like that word SHALL. No doubt about it, it SHALL happen. But our part is to expect (that’s exercising our faith), LOOK for, and put our HOPE in Him.
Then – like after having a GOOD night’s sleep – we’ll be rested, recharged, and ready.
This verse also teaches that we’ll “mount up with wings like eagles.” If you’ve ever watched an eagle cam, you know that they live WAY ABOVE all the mundane problems and, when they fly, they SOAR above it all.
Wouldn’t you like to SOAR above it all, enjoy living your life, and NOT feel tired, weary, or faint?
Well, God wishes that for you too. The KEY, of course, is to do it His way.
Prayer: LORD, I do want to soar above it all. Help me learn to DO this verse and not just treat it as a little devotional. Help me to be a DOER of the Word and not a hearer only. Amen.
