Day 38 | PRAYING IN FAITH
PRAYING IN FAITH

Psalm 70
“Please, God, rescue me! Come quickly, Lord, and help me. May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame. May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace. Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said, ‘Aha! We’ve got him now!’ But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, ‘God is great!’ But as for me, I am poor and needy; please hurry to my aid, O God. You are my helper and my savior; O Lord, do not delay.”
(NLT)

Do you know what God is more interested in than solving today’s problems for you?  Your FAITH.

Heb 11:1 says, “NOW faith is the substance of things hoped, for the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV)

The Scripture also teaches us that we “walk by FAITH and not by sight.”

That’s the opposite of the world in which we live.  We want to SEE it before we believe it. And yet, God teaches us that when we BELIEVE it, we will SEE it.

And how do we build our faith?

Jesus told “Doubting Thomas” to touch his nail-scared hands, and then Jesus said, “Don’t be doubting, but believing.”

Here, David is crying out for the LORD to help him out of a mess.  But he also adds – to his credit – verse 4 which says: “But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, ‘God is great!’”

Do you do that?  Do you let yourself be filled with JOY and GLADNESS when you pray to God?  Do you shout, “God is great”?

Doing so, after we pray and before the answer comes, is a step of FAITH.  As Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God.”

Prayer: LORD, I have much to learn about praying in faith and praising You.  Help me as I grow my prayer life. Amen.
