40 Reasons God DELIGHTS in YOU
Day 36 | YOU ARE AS UNIQUE AS YOUR DNA
YOU ARE AS UNIQUE AS YOUR DNA
Genesis 1:26-27
“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (NIV)
Throughout the world, there is manufacturing and – depending on the item – assembly lines. Thus, all cars from a manufacturer of a specific model look the same and are indistinguishable from all others (except maybe the Vehicle ID number).
However, there is only one YOU. You are unique! Your physical and emotional makeup, personal and family history, your unique blend of spiritual gifts, talents, personality, and more, make you ONE of a kind (even if you are an identical twin)! God seems to delight in variety (I mean, have you considered the anteater? Really? What’s with that? Or the platypus, wow God!)
So, what are you doing with your uniqueness? Are you sharing? Are you hiding? Are you proud of being YOU or are you embarrassed?
Now just because you are unique doesn’t mean YOU don’t need some fine-tuning. Yes, we are made in God’s image. Still, we live in a broken, sinful world, and the pollution of this world (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual pollution) negatively impacts us and causes us NOT to be the person God designed us to be.
So, here’s what you do. Regardless of your age, location, or status in life, pray and ask the Lord what things He would like you to work on to make you, the you He intended you to be.
Prayer: LORD, I rejoice in the unique way you made me, but I admit, I am less than perfect and need your help. Lead and guide me, Lord, as I strive to be all that you intended me to be. Amen.
