Day 31 | WHO DO YOU LOOK LIKE?
40 Reasons God DELIGHTS in YOU
Day 31 | WHO DO YOU LOOK LIKE?
WHO DO YOU LOOK LIKE?
2 Corinthians 3:16-18
“But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”
Free will. One of the innumerable gifts that God has bestowed on mankind. We exercise that free will when we choose to make Christ our Lord and Savior. But even then, we still have free will. We can choose to pray… or not. We can choose to go to church… or not. We can choose to love one another… or not, and so on.
In our Scripture today Paul is teaching, in part, from the Old Testament days referring to Moses who had to wear a veil on his face – which was shining – when he came down from the mountain after meeting with God. When we come to the Lord and become a child of God, the veil between God and us is removed, and we can see Jesus clearly!
Now the question… What do you look at during the day? Yes, I know, if you’re working a job you must look at your workplace and attend to your duties. But beyond that, do you purposefully look at the Lord? Do you pray to Him and think about what you’re praying for? Do you read the Word and think about the Lord behind those words? Do you look at Jesus and want to be more like Him?
It’s a choice, and whether you begin to look more and more like Jesus or not is in part how you use your time and the choices you make.
Prayer: LORD, I do want to follow you more closely. Nudge me today through Your Spirit to think more about YOU and spend more time with You. Amen.
