40 Reasons God DELIGHTS in YOU
Day 25 | NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
Romans 8:35, 37-39
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (NIV)
Have you ever been through a separation, divorce, or perhaps lost a loved one? Have you ever been treated wrongly by an employer, maybe even wrongly terminated? Have you ever had someone charge you with a wrong of which you were innocent? Did you ever have a child turn their back on you?
Did you wonder where God was in tough times like those – or any of a hundred others? It’s understandable and precisely what the Enemy of our Faith wants you to do – to doubt God. To doubt that God loves you and to wonder if God can be trusted.
The Christians in Paul’s times had it rough. They were a minority religion and were persecuted by everyone else; the Jews, the Gnostics, the Romans – you name it. Thus, they had plenty of reasons to doubt that God loved them anymore… everything was a disaster.
But Paul was encouraging them – by the Holy Spirit – that NOTHING could cause God to stop loving them. Nothing would prevent God from caring for His children, helping to guide, comfort, lead, and encourage them to get through whatever they were going through.
Whatever you face – big or small – God is there, and He cares for YOU.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for always loving me. I am one of your children, and I know that our relationship will never end. Amen.
