40 Reasons God DELIGHTS in YOU
Day 9 | GOD KNOWS MY DAYS
GOD KNOWS MY DAYS
Psalm 139:16
“Your eyes have seen my formless substance; And in Your book were written. All the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” (NASB)
Do you know what you’ll be doing a month from today? What you’ll be eating? Where you’ll go? What clothes you’ll decide to wear? Who you’ll meet and talk to? Well, of course you don’t… neither do I.
But God does!
I know that’s hard to grasp, that HE knows about every day of your life before you do. In fact, He knows ALL the days of your life before you were born.
So you ask, how is that possible?
Because He’s God… and we’re not. Let that sink in, for it’s a KEY truth that we need to let sink deep into our souls.
This piece of “time” in which we live, marked by our calendars, our watches, our to-do lists; this time that marches on 24 hours a day, day after day, by which we are limited and in which we live, does not hold the same limits on God. He knows the “beginning from the end.” He knew WHO you were going to marry before you did. He knows what job (or jobs) you would have. He knew when you would be born, and He knows when you’ll die and how.
King David, who wrote this song (aka psalm), was mainly pointing out God’s omniscience (all-knowing) and omnipresence (everywhere present). For instance, David wrote: “You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far away. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.” (Psalm 139:2-3, NASB)
I know it’s baffling and unbelievable, but it’s true because He’s God.
Prayer: LORD, Your abilities are beyond my comprehension. I can’t understand You, but it is comforting that You know me, love me and guide me. Help me to always trust in You. Amen.
