GOD SHARES HIS SECRETS WITH YOU
Psalm 25:14
“The secret [of the wise counsel] of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them [through His word] its [deep, inner] meaning.” (AMP)
Think back to perhaps school days. Do you remember ever sharing a secret with a close friend? Why did you feel you could share with them and not someone else? My guess is you knew them, trusted them, and enjoyed the closeness of being good friends.
Now, consider the Lord and the teaching of this verse.
First, the sharing of God’s secrets, His wise counsel, is only for those who “fear Him.” I know, a stumbling block phrase for many… but it refers to those who acknowledge God as Lord and Savior and worship Him as God. Those who recognize that HE knows MORE than we ever will and who deeply respect that.
So, God will share with YOU – being a Follower of Jesus – whereas He knows the foolish don’t care, so He lets them go on in the direction they want to go.
Second, this verse clarifies that God’s Word has many deeper, inner meanings. Again, God doesn’t share the more profound meanings with just anyone but will with His children who ask and seek and knock.
For example, have you ever had to make a decision and didn’t know which path to take? You pondered, thought, considered, and asked around. You got answers one way and then the other. And then, you decide to ask the Lord. Why? Because He knows the RIGHT way for you to go and you trust Him.
Psalm 25:1-3 says: “In you, Lord my God, I put my trust … do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame.”
God delights in you and wants to share His secrets with you for His honor and glory and for your benefit.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for helping me in this life by sharing insights and secrets and Your wise counsel. Amen.
