40 Days of NEW with GOD
Day 40 | LET US COME BOLDLY BEFORE THE THRONE OF GRACE

NEW COVENANT:
LET US COME BOLDLY BEFORE THE THRONE OF GRACE
Hebrews 4:12-16
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
There is much in these verses, but let me focus on two points.
First, the Word of God… it is “LIVING and POWERFUL.”
The Word of God – the Bible – is unlike any other book, no matter who the author is. Human authors wrote it, yes, but under God's guidance… the Holy Spirit… every word. (2 Timothy 3:16 speaks to the PRODUCT – the Bible – and 2 Peter 1:21 speaks to the PROCESS… holy men led of God.) Because of that, it can offend and convict people of sin and "missing the mark," – which is why so MANY people throughout history have tried to destroy or at least ignore the Bible.
Second, WE – Children of God – have a high priest (Jesus) who was tempted just as we are and thus knows our pain and challenges. He invites YOU and me to "come boldly" to the throne in prayer and find GRACE (God giving us what we do NOT deserve) to help when needed.
So, when you're hurting or in trouble, don't run FROM God; run TO God, confidently, boldly, humbly, and receive from Him what you need.
Prayer: LORD, thank You for providing the Word of God and Your matchless grace to help me in this life here. Thank You so much. Amen.
