Day 33 | A NEW PEACE PROMISE
A NEW PEACE PROMISE

Isaiah 26:3-4
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.”
 (NKJV)

There is so much busyness in today’s world. Go back 100 years: No internet, cable TV, jet airline travel, cell phones, etc. But today, we have everything at our fingertips… for better or worse.

Surveys show that our STRESS levels are high compared to decades ago, and PEACE and REST are more difficult for most people to find.

Then we open God’s Word to these verses from Isaiah the prophet.

Verse 3 is one of my favorite verses. It has reminded me MANY times to stop fretting and worrying about a thing but to focus on the LORD and trust HIM to work out whatever needs to work out.

Perfect peace. What does that mean to you? When was the last time you experienced it? (Maybe you’ve let your mind wander away from the Lord?)

Verse 4 says: “Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.” The LSB puts it this way: “Trust in Yahweh forever, for in Yah—Yahweh Himself—we have an everlasting Rock.”

Yahweh, God’s most personal, holy name, was given to Moses on the mountain. Yahweh, the Creator God of Genesis... this God will be the source of PERFECT PEACE for anyone who decides to focus his mind on and trust in Him.

You know the problem, right? Today, we have so many choices of counterfeit things that offer us peace and rest… and it’s often hard to remember to GO TO THE SOURCE for real peace, rest, help, and wisdom. Advertisers would have you buy this drug or that, as would non-Christians. But WE – Children of God – should always look to our Almighty God FIRST for the rest, peace, and direction we need.

Never forget, God loves YOU.
“For God so loved that world that He gave His only begotten Son.” (John 3:16a)

Prayer: LORD, thank You for a NEW type of peace I know I need regularly. Nudge me to look to You first when I’m in need. Thank You, Amen.
