Day 3 | COME CONFIDENTLY TO GOD’S THRONE OF GRACE
COME CONFIDENTLY TO GOD’S THRONE OF GRACE

Hebrews 4:16
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Yesterday, we learned that our LORD (all caps means YHWH or Yahweh) is merciful, gracious, longsuffering, full of goodness and truth. He is merciful and forgiving. And since we know that the LORD is the same yesterday, today, and forever, for our Lord God can NOT change, we have a fantastic offer here in the New Testament.   We are invited to come to the Throne of God with confidence.

You might ask, confident in what? Confident that God is “I Am Who I Am”, that He is a God of mercy and grace. And this means He will give to us – even though we don’t earn it or deserve it – what we need to help us in our time of need.

Going back to your school days… Did you ever need to ask your teacher for an extension when something was due? Was it a legitimate request because of sickness or something you had no control over? And did your teacher grant you the extra time? Sometimes that happens (extra time), and sometimes it doesn’t. It depends.

Here, the author of Hebrews encourages us to come CONFIDENTLY to the “throne of grace” so that we might find GRACE and HELP when needed.

What an invitation!

As you think about coming to God in prayer, you might ask yourself: “Do I believe the LORD is all-powerful? That He can do anything? That He knows everything?” And if YES, then ASK Him in faith and confidence.

You see, prayer is not a function of what words you say, what posture you maintain, or if your eyes are closed or open, or if your hands are folded.

Answered prayer is based on WHO God is and our relationship with Him.

Here’s a quick suggestion: Pray More, Fret Less.

Prayer: LORD, help me to remember this verse and come confidently, and thank You for the grace you offer me. Amen.
